So, what is a Lectionary?

A lectionary is a collection of readings or selections from the Scriptures, arranged and intended for proclamation during the worship services of the people of God.  There are two lectionaries in common usage throughout the church:

The Revised Common Lectionary (RCL)

and 

The Narrative Lectionary (NL)

The Revised Common Lectionary

The RCL is organized in a 3 year cycle so that central concepts of the Bible are covered over the 3 year span.

The Narrative Lectionary

The Narrative Lectionary is a four year reading plan that is designed to be read September through May, following the school year. These readings focus on the narrative from Genesis through Jesus' life.
